A Passion Born from the Waves
My love affair with fishing began at a very young age, growing up in a small coastal town in the south of England. With the ocean just a stone’s throw away from our family home, I was exposed to the wonders of the sea and its inhabitants from the moment I could walk. My father, a fisherman by trade, took me under his wing and taught me the art of angling. Together, we spent countless hours fishing from the shoreline, the local pier, and our trusty old fishing boat.
As I grew older, my passion for fishing only intensified, and I found myself drawn to the idea of a life spent on the water. This yearning led me to join the Royal Navy, where I spent over a decade serving my country and honing my angling skills. My time in the Navy took me to the farthest reaches of the globe, allowing me to experience fishing in some of the world’s most incredible locations. From battling marlin off the coast of Australia to fly fishing for trout in the rivers of Scotland, my military service provided me with a wealth of fishing experiences that I will cherish forever.
Upon leaving the Navy, I knew that I wanted to share my love for fishing and the outdoors with others. It was this desire that led me to create this blog, where I can connect with fellow anglers and outdoor enthusiasts and share my knowledge, stories, and passion for the sport that has given me so much joy throughout my life.
